2017 Employment Opportunities at Sandhill Family Farms:  Sandhill Family Farms is seeking employees for the 2017 growing season.  We are excited about this coming season – our 17th year growing vegetables and raising chickens, lamb and broilers.   We are hiring for a position on our summer crew that will focus mainly on all aspects of vegetable production.  Duties include planting, weeding, mowing, tomato maintenance, harvesting and record keeping.  Previous farm experience is not required – just a strong desire to work outside alongside a great crew! 

 Sandhill Family Farms is a member of the Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training (CRAFT) and encourages all employees to take advantage of this great opportunity.                   

Most positions start in April and May and end in October or November.  Exact dates are negotiable.  Preference will be given to those with farm experience and individuals seeking a multiple year commitment.  There will be no tractor work for first-year employees.  Hourly compensation will be discussed during farm interview. GREAT OPPORTUNITY FROM COLONY BRANDS: We would love to show YOU what opportunities are available through our Career Exploration Program and how you can earn a $400 scholarship.   

The program is open to students who will be high school Juniors and Seniors and Freshmen or Sophomores in College for the 2017/2018 school year.  This program will give 15 students the opportunity to explore different careers within our company as well as having a great paying summer job (June through August).

 

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

  • Students will work in a primary/home department (Production, Bakery Production or the Contact Center) four days per week.
  • One day per week will be spent in different departments across the company such as Human Resources, Public Relations, Benefits, Marketing, Creative Marketing Services, Accounting, Purchasing, Internet/E-Commerce, and Inventory Management.
  • Program will run from June 12, 2017 to August 11, 2017
  • Students will job shadow employees in different departments to gain a better understanding of that department and the jobs associated with that field.
  • You must be a Junior or Senior High School student or a Freshman or Sophomore in college to apply.
  • You must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Upon completion of the program you will receive a $400.00 scholarship to the school of your choice.

HOW TO APPLY:

  • Complete and submit the Career Exploration Application and Essay.  This can be obtained at the Colony Brands, Inc. Employment Office,

      851 1st Avenue, Monroe, Wisconsin or at www.colonybrands.com.            Office hours are M-F, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Schedule an interview with        the Human Resource Office by contacting Alice Siedschlag at

      (608) 328-8718 before Friday, April 21, 2017.  (Your interview must be

      scheduled and completed before this date.)

  • Provide two professional references – name, how you know this person, and phone number they can be contacted at (there is space on the application for this information).
  • Submit verification of your grade point average (i.e. school transcripts, report card, letter from school).  Please submit with application.
  • The application (including references and GPA verification) and interview must be completed before Friday, April 21, 2017.
